Veterans Housing Scotland

I attended the launch of Veterans Housing Scotland’s campaign to secure 25 more homes for veterans by 2025.

The campaign promotes partnerships between charities and social housing providers which will enable veterans to be nominated for social tenancies – an effective approach which I fully endorse.

Midlothian Council was the first housing provider to sign up, committing to allocate two properties a year to nominated disabled veterans and their families – an encouraging start. The very talented Edinburgh Military Wives Choir provided splendid entertainment for the evening.

Delighted to join veterans and staff at @scotvetres's Whitefoord House for a festive quiz. The kitchen team produced some exquisite food and all enjoyed a really fun afternoon. Chief Executive Martin Nadin OBE (dressed as Santa 🎅) joined in the fun!

It was an enormous privilege to read at the Robin Chapel’s International Service of Nine Lessons and Carols last night. The chapel’s motto - Service, Sacrifice, Remembrance, Reconciliation - is a timeless guide and a tribute to the chapel's enduring values.
